Configure profiles

Version note: This video was recorded in GMS v1.1.10 beta 6. Newer versions may show Profiles instead of gPay Profiles, and Pricing instead of Pricing Settings.

Reusable profiles reduce repeated configuration across machines, rooms, and locations. Recording demonstrates three profile types: Machine Settings, Pricing Settings, and Operation Settings.

Configuration workflow: Profiles · Phone app administrators · Room machines · New room

Why profiles exist

Create reusable profiles once, then associate them with compatible machines. This avoids entering same settings for every machine and allows coordinated changes after configuration is pushed to devices.

Blast radius: Changing a shared profile may affect many machines across multiple locations after next setup push. Identify every assignment before editing.

Walkthrough

  1. At System level, open gPay Profiles.
  2. Select profile category: Machine Settings, Pricing Settings, or Operation Settings.
  3. Create or open a profile.
  4. Enter clear profile name and optional free-form notes.
  5. Choose compatible machine type.
  6. Configure category-specific fields.
  7. Save, then associate profile with intended machines during room configuration.
  8. Save the profile and confirm settings reach the intended devices.

Profile types

TypeRecording demonstratesRisk
Machine SettingsDefault cycle temperatures, cycle times, audio settings, and other machine parameters. Defaults may be adjusted.Wrong machine type or parameter can change physical machine behavior.
Pricing SettingsTop-offs, cycle-based pricing, cycle prices, special cycles, and loyalty-related settings.Shared pricing changes can affect many venues.
Operation SettingsOperational fields and special-pricing schedule that maps time periods to regular or special pricing.Legacy FlashCash-derived fields may be irrelevant or removed.

Special pricing

Operation profile schedule can select regular or special pricing by time period. Recording presents discounts as way to move usage to selected times. It also states some displayed fields were inherited from FlashCash and expected to be removed; treat them as historical.

Verification

  • Confirm machine type and firmware compatibility.
  • List every machine/location using profile.
  • Review price and schedule changes before applying them.
  • Test on a limited set of machines before broad assignment.
  • Confirm setup reached intended devices.

Profiles improve operational efficiency by reusing settings across locations and rooms. GMS shows Machine Settings, Pricing Settings, and Operation Settings. Machine profiles include temperatures, cycle times, and audio. Pricing profiles include top-offs, cycle prices, special cycles, and loyalty. Operation profiles include special-pricing schedules and some legacy FlashCash fields. Multiple profiles can support different venues, and shared profile changes apply after setup is pushed to associated devices.
